Rod and Barbara Tichenor

Our company was founded with the abandoned project in mind. Rod Tichenor the owner of Rods and Restorations started this company to rescue the car enthusiast that had a project build go bad or was discouraged by the lack of professionalism of other restoration facilities. We welcome our customers with friendly, professional and quality service. We want our clients to be an integral part of their project, because ultimately it is their project and their dreams that they are entrusting to us to make a reality.

The passion for cars began early for Rod when he would come home from school and go to the garage to complete the list of work his dad left for him before he returned home from work at the dealership. Rod’s father, Joe “Muggs” Tichenor, worked at the infamous V.V. Cooke Chevrolet in Louisville, KY before moving to Jim Booher Chevrolet through the 60’s and 70’. Rod grew up around Blown, Big Block Alky pull tractors. The addiction began at the age of eight when his Daddy strapped him to the roll cage of his blown big block BB/G altered 1948 Anglia. In 1968 Muggs showed little Roddy what 150mph in under 6.5 seconds felt like. Rod often says that he has been chasing that feeling ever since.

To say that the team here at Rods and Restorations is passionate about cars is a HUGE understatement. With over 150 combined years of experience and more certifications than most dealerships, you can be confident that we can handle any modification or any level build that you have in mind.
